Incentive Programs & Aggregation Services
The state of Massachusetts offers an incentive to homeowners to use the clean energy that a solar system produces.
The incentive programs are separate from any agreements made with the utility companies. Regardless of how much energy you use you are credited with and can sell the full amount of energy that your system produces.
Retail electricity suppliers are required to purchase a certain number of Renewable Energy Credits each year to comply with the state’s renewable energy mandates. For every megawatt hour (mWh) of electricity produced, participants earn one REC, or Renewable Energy Credit. 1,000 kWh of solar electricity = 1 MWh of solar electricity. If your system has 10 kW of solar capacity that would equal around 12 RECs per year.
SunDial is certified as an aggregator by the MA DOER to aggregate and sell RECS under both the SREC and Class 1 REC incentive programs.
Only MA certified facilities are able to provide these services.
